Beggs – Ridge in the Wick Mountains

Walking the Milford Track in New Zealand had been one of those ‘one day’ dreams for most of our married life. Then we realised we were not as young as before, so time to get onto it. We walked in early March 2020, blissfully unaware of the world going into lockdown with the pandamic.

We had beautiful weather each day. One morning we rounded a bend on the track and here was this magnificent peak, shrouded in mist at the top.

At the end of our walk we spent several days trying to get a flight home. When we arrived in Australia we were sent into quarantine lockdown (at home) for 14 days. This was my first painting done in that period.
